The manifesto of non-hostile communication – Parole O_Stili (IT)
Parole O_Stili is a social awareness project against violent language online. We believe that words have enormous power. We should, therefore, choose words well and wisely, in the real world, but also online. Since the Internet and social networks are virtual places where real people meet, we need to question who we are and how we should communicate and behave when we use them. Parole O_Stili aims to encourage people to redefine the way they use the Internet and to choose words carefully and responsibly, without ever forgetting that words are important.
During the first event of Parole O_Stili in February 2017, the Manifesto of Non-Hostile Communication was presented to the audience. From then on, it has made an incredible journey – spreading on social media, but also in schools, universities and offices. The Manifesto is a commitment to shared responsibility for creating a respectful and civilized Internet that represents us and offers a sense of security. Written by a community of over 300 communicators, bloggers and influencers, it is a charter of 10 practical principles to guide online behaviour.
